The mixer accepts signal from your mics and playback sources(computer, dvd, ipod) and routs them to your speakers and recorders. The Mackie 1202 VLZ pro has 4 microphone inputs and 4 stereo line level inputs. If you have more mics to use than 4, you'll need a bigger board.
